The MVP and the Best Goal awards for the 18th matchday were awarded to Vassilis Koutsianikoulis and Andreas Lampropoulos respectively, who topped the competition organised by Super League OPAP, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The awards were presented by the Board member Mr Mihalis Leledakis and the Vice President of the Club Mr Andreas Manoussakis.
On receiving the MVP award of the 18th matchday, Vassilis Koutsianikoulis pointed out the following:
"It is really great that the club is receiving so many awards and we need one more to have the same number of awards as PAOK. I wish we will make it this season in other areas as well, besides the personal and club awards. I hope we will continue like this and that we will only bring joy to the club."
On the fact that they have received the majority of the awards during the first matches of the second leg of the Championship, Vassilis Koutsianikoulis remarked the following:
"The club has gained its footing and it gets better with every match, it functions better in the pitch and this brings awards to the team. I believe we will keep up like this and that we will receive more awards."
About the immediate future of the Super League and the goals OFI has:
"The main goal of the club is to amass as many points as possible so that it can quickly secure its non-relegation to the lower division. It seems to be doing well in this area so far and I hope that if we continue like this, we will amass even more points so we can fight for something greater and more important for all of us."
Mr Leledakis who presented the award on behalf of OFI FC stated the following:
"It is a great honour for OFI, for the players, for all of us and for the citizens of Heraklion that have been through so many things with the club. I hope the players will continue being distinguished and from our part, we will be on their side to help them in all we can."
Andreas Lampropoulos mentioned the following:
On receiving the Best Goal award of the 18th matchday:
"I am really happy about these consecutive awards. This does not necessarily mean something, but this does not come from me only as I have the help of my teammates and the club, and, from what you can see, other players of the club receive awards too, therefore, this means that we are doing good work. I am really happy and I hope we will continue receiving awards. We have played good matches during the last fixtures and I believe we will continue like this in the future."
About the latest positive results of OFI:
"I believe we are in a really good condition at the moment. We won two matches and I believe we will do even better in the future. We have good psychology and therefore things will take their way."
On whether he believes that things will clear out in the following matchdays as regards the club's non-relegation and the participation in the play-offs:
"I believe that things will remain the same in the following matchdays, but the situation will start to clear out gradually. If we win 3 more matches, we will secure our non-relegation to the lower division."
The Vice President of FC OFI Mr Andreas Manoussakis who presented the award to Andreas Lampropoulos pointed out the following:
"These awards are an honour for OFI and a recognition of the work and efforts of the players. At the same time, it is an extra motive for us, the administration, to continue providing better working conditions. We are positive that as long as all the boys are healthy, OFI and the players will soon receive more awards."
