The Best Goal award of the 25th matchday was awarded to Thanasis Papageorgiou playing for Panthrakikos, who topped the competition organised by Super League Greece, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by the football director of Panthrakikos, Haris Mavromatis.
After the ceremony, the Panthrakikos player stated:
"This is undoubtedly a happy moment for me and it's special that I win this award for the second time this season, again for a goal I scored against PAOK. These are moments that are forever etched in the memory of an athlete as regards his achievements during his career. Also, I will never forget that I scored the winning goal against a great club, during a year that, unfortunately, we did not celebrate many home successes and did not make our fans happy. Of course, the sad thing is that this award is combined with the relegation of Panthrakikos and this fact of course makes me less happy since I experienced many things in the past three years as a player of this team. This is how football is, however, joys and sorrows go hand in hand. I wish with all my heart that Panthrakikos will find its way and quickly return to Super League strong."
On whom he dedicates this award to: "I wish to dedicate this award to my girlfriend who is by my side and supports me in good and bad moments. Besides, when celebrating the goal, I turned to the stands and dedicated it to her."
Mr Mavromatis stated the following:
"I wish to congratulate Thanasis for this success that's so important both for him and Panthrakikos. He scored two very beautiful goals this season and both were awarded a prize, a fact that is of course special. He is a man that in his three years in Panthrakikos left the best possible impressions both as a player and a person. He helped us and we helped him and had great moments together. I wish him all the best for the future, as well as health and luck."
