Super League, in implementation of the unanimous decision of its Board, will dedicate matchday 11 of the Super League Souroti Championship (18-20 November 2017) to the information and awareness campaign regarding persons with disabilities, in a coordinated effort to promote the improvement of the conditions of access of our fellow people with disabilities to the stadia where the matches of the Super League Souroti Championship are played.
The goal of this initiative by the organising authority of the top Greek club competition is to contribute to the information and awareness of competent institutions, fans and all football stakeholders so that they will support this initiative, by acknowledging the self-evident right of persons with disabilities to be provided with the best possible conditions regarding their attendance in football matches.
The President of Super League Georgios K. Stratos when announcing this initiative, following the conclusion of the Board's meeting in October, had pointed out:
"I wish to talk about the unanimous decision of the Board of Super League because we are very happy that we will implement it together.
Our country recently incorporated in its local law the Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.
We took a decision that matchday 11 of the Super League Souroti Championship will be dedicated to these people.
We want to invite them to the stadia so that they can get in contact with the clubs.
We will try to find sponsors so that the condition of the stadia will improve further.
We don't want any fans staying at home.
We want them all in the stadium.
Football mostly comes from the soul.
Existing facilities must improve.
We are happy that we will be among the first bodies in Greece that, following the institution of the new provisions, will prove that we all stand united."
