Super League, in the frame of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities, presented two important initiatives aiming at bringing information, awareness and education to supporters and urging them to participate.
The first initiative is the voluntary blood donation programme, in collaboration with the Greek National Blood Donation Centre, in all stadia of the Clubs participating in the Super League, during the 29th and 30th matchdays. The second initiative is the pilot information, education and awareness programme on the concept of Fair Play and behaviours showcasing it; the programme will be held in April, initially in Attica schools and the goal is to expand it in the future in the cities of all clubs participating in the top professional division.
The president of Super League, Mr Yannis Moralis, said: "Super League once more undertakes dual social purpose initiatives: Raising the awareness of the fans regarding voluntary blood donation and educating and informing school children on the values of Fair Play. Voluntary blood donation is a social responsibility act. Blood donation saves lives. The goal of the Super League is to raise awareness on voluntary blood donation. The Fair Play pilot programme will be initially implemented in Attica schools, in collaboration with the clubs and the goal is to later expand it in all Greek cities. The main component of this education initiative is to teach school children the values of Fair Play, as they are principal in forming the philosophy that accepts and adopts basic concepts such as respect, team spirit, collaboration and participation. We hope that these initiatives of the Super League will convey a message of optimism and solidarity, particularly in this timeframe when the Greek society is hit by the crisis."
Mihalis Anagnostou, the Super League General Manager, pointed out the following: "Super League and its 16 Professional Club-members acknowledge the value of voluntary blood donation and the education as regards Fair Play core values. We all convey a positive message to all fans and in particular young people, as fair play is a way of life and is not limited to football, whereas voluntary blood donation is an act of solidarity towards our fellow people that have a health problem. We implement these two initiatives in collaboration with the Greek National Blood Donation Centre and specialised sports psychologists, in the frame of the general corporate social responsibility activities of the Super League."
NOTE
The blood donation mobile units will be at the stadia between 15:00 p.m. and 18:00 p.m. during the 29th and the 30th matchdays.
