"The new Super League/OPAP Championship that kicks off on August 23, in dire financial straits in our country, is only the beginning of the marathon run that will conclude, together with the play-offs, on May 31, 2015. Super League aims at continuing the concerted efforts so that the Club members of the association will be able to successfully manage the tremendous pressure of the financial crisis, and in some cases to be able to comply with the liabilities undertaken by previous administrations by trying to rationalise their financial affairs. Despite the existing problems, which we recognise and try to resolve, although they do not concern solely the organising authority, the Super League/OPAP Championship is a respite for the fans who are looking forward to the spectacle, the goals and the excitement offered by football. In working closely with all Club members, the institutional bodies and our strategic partners, we aim to resolve the problems, bearing in mind that we all have to work together for the good of the game."
