The MVP and Best Goal awards of matchday 26 were awarded to Sergio Araujo playing for AEK, who topped the competition organised by Super League Greece, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA.
After the ceremony, the AEK player stated:
"I wish to thank very much for both awards. I just try to do my job and I hope that come Sunday, I will help in such a way that I will win more awards to take home."
On his presence in AEK:
"I am very happy here. These past two years are the best of my life and I wish to thank all my teammates that help me so we can do this together."
On whether the goal against Panathinaikos is the most important goal of his career:
"I had scored another important goal with my previous club. I think that this is a very important goal and I like the fact that I did not score it with the foot I favour – I was lucky that it landed in the net. The fact that I scored it using my theoretically "weak" foot is an added bonus. I do not know what would have happened had I used my good foot; I have scored 6-7 goals this season with my left foot and I want to score in any way possible so I can help the team."
On the fact that it took him some time this season to win this "double" award following the one last season for the match against PAOK:
"The truth is that I feel very happy to hold these two awards in my hands. I cannot tell whether it took me some time to win them or not because I could have won some more during the season. It definitely took me some time to win both simultaneously, but the fact remains that I helped my team in important matches to maintain its high football level; I have also helped on this aspect."
