The MVP of the 2nd matchday was awarded on Tuesday, September 11, to Rubén Rayos playing for Asteras Tripolis, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by the vice president of the Super League and president of Asteras Tripolis, Mr Giorgos Borovilos.
After the ceremony, the Asteras Tripolis player stated:
"I dedicate this award to my teammates, as they also deserve one piece of this success because they helped me achieve it and also to my family in Spain.
This MVP award gives me great joy because it reflects my effort on the pitch and greater joy to go on. It is a great satisfaction and encouragement towards playing even better in the coming matches. I hope that this will not be the last time I win this award.
What I can promise is to do everything I can and try as hard as I can on the pitch, to overcome even myself, to improve as a player, to help the club reach as high as possible in the ranking, to once again participate in a European competition, and finally to make it to the Greek Cup Final this year, something we did not manage to do last year only because of one unfortunate moment. Over and above all, to have a better season this year.
All my thoughts are focused on how I can help the club to the best of my abilities in order to have a better season. My only focus is for the club I am in."
