The Best Goal award of the 6th matchday was awarded to Pavlos Kyriakidis playing for Iraklis, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by the Head of the FC Iraklis Academy and veteran player of the club, Makis Sentelidis.
After the ceremony, the Iraklis player stated:
"I wish to thank the fans that voted my goal as best goal of the 6th matchday. I personally wish to say that I will continue working hard and helping the team as much as I can and when required. If it's possible to score more goals like this one, then let them come."
On how such goals are scored: "In football, as Mr Sentelidis told me following the match against Giannina, you cannot score if you don't take shots. I believe that our team in the beginning of the championship did not do this a lot, but during the last matchdays we started attempting such moves, namely shots outside the box and long-distance shots. It's therefore a matter of time, in my opinion, before more goals like this one are scored."
On whether this award is also a boost to his morale in view of the upcoming match of Iraklis against PAOK, he said: "A goal like this one definitely boosts your morale, but the match against PAOK is a match like every other match. You can win three points. This is what we want to do, go there and win the three points."
On how the players of Iraklis feel about this match: "We most certainly are looking forward to it. I believe that our morale is high. Every player has prepared for this match and we will go there to achieve the best possible outcome. We want to win the three points in order to please our fans too."
On whom he dedicates this award to: "I wish to dedicate this award to my family and my girlfriend who are always by my side and support me. They've never missed a match in Kaftanzoglio since last year and they also come to away matches when possible. I also wish to dedicate it to the team because although this may be a personal award, it's the result of team effort. Football is not an individual sport, it's a team sport. I therefore dedicate it to all my teammates and all the fans of Iraklis."
On the fact that the goal of another player of Iraklis, Apostolos Vellios, was also among the candidate goals in the competition and whether this gave reason to teasing: "Yes, there was some teasing. Maybe the goal of Vellios was not so spectacular, however it was a really difficult goal; but he was not lucky because obviously another more spectacular goal was scored."
