The MVP of the 8h matchday was awarded to Papa Abou Cissé playing for Olympiacos, who topped the competition organised by Super League Greece, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr S. Theodoridis.
After the ceremony, the Olympiacos player stated:
"I feel very emotional. It's a very important moment for me. I feel very emotional given the words I just heard from Mr Savvas Theodoridis. They touched me and I feel even stronger to keep up my effort. I thank him very much for his kind words. I feel very strong for the future."
On the derby against Panathinaikos, he said:
"We are perfectly ready. It is an important match for us. We are perfectly ready, as regards our psychology, to go there and do our best. We want to win for our fans and we will give our best to win this match. I wish to thank the people of Olympiacos for their messages and their support through the messages they continuously send me in the social media. These messages make me feel very strong. I promise them that I will try even harder, given that I am still young, to do my best for this club. I am not here to play for myself, but to win both titles with Olympiacos."
Mr. Theodoridis said:
"He was the player I liked the most among the players that we signed as transfers this year. He is a very modest and very good fellow. He is 100% professional despite the fact that he is still very young. He still hasn't stood out with Olympiacos, he has real potential, mark my words. I mean, look at his height. The most important thing is that he reminds me of old Olympiacos because he plays like a man.
He reminds me of Anatolakis and Avraam Papadopoulos. Olympiacos needs such players and centre backs. Do you remember me telling you that I do not go to Thessaloniki without Avraam or Anatolakis?
Well, I'll go anywhere with them! He is one of these players. He is very hard-working and he will stand out. Trust me, after Touré he is one of the best players I have ever seen in Olympiacos. On Saturday's match, he will be the best one on the pitch. Without a doubt. He will swallow them whole."
