The Best Goal award of the 26th matchday was awarded to Pantelis Kapetanos playing for FC Skoda Xanthi, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented to Pantelis Kapetanos by the President of FC Skoda Xanthi, Mr Aris Pialoglou.
After the ceremony, the FC Skoda Xanthi player stated the following:
"It was a beautiful goal. It's not the most beautiful goal I have ever scored, but it just happened to be the best goal of the matchday. The important thing is that we managed to achieve our goal which was to win the match and score many goals against Panetolikos. I wish to thank my teammates because it takes team effort to get the ball to the striker. We should go on like this."
When asked about his participations and his goals in Greece as a player of Xanthi, he replied: "I have proven what I can do when I am healthy. I have not been injured at all while playing for Xanthi. I will not talk about personal records and statistics. The important thing is team effort and the achievements of the team. This is what I focus on and the thing on my mind is to win the following two matches that are really important; I am talking about the match against PAOK for the championship and the match against Iraklis for the Greek Cup. We want to go as high as possible through team work and team spirit. Our big goal is to qualify for the final of the Greek Cup."
Mr Pialoglou pointed out the following:
"This year our team plays good football and we all enjoy this. This is a message from our side to the fans to return to the stands."
