The MVP award of the 10th matchday was awarded to Marcus Berg playing for Panathinaikos, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by the scout of Panathinaikos in Southern America, Juan Ramon Rocha.
After the ceremony, the Panathinaikos player stated:
On the match against Atromitos: "The match in Peristeri was good and strong and the fact that we managed to win the three points was important because we did not have a head coach on the bench. It was a difficult match, but we are now looking forward to the following matches under the new coach and hope all will be well."
On the award: "I wish to thank those that voted for me, it means a lot. As I always say, football is a team sport, however I am happy I helped the team with the goal I scored and with the assist."
On the upcoming derby against Olympiacos: "The last two weeks were good, I have a good feeling and it's now the time to win the big derby this Saturday in our home. I have a good feeling."
Juan Ramon Rocha said the following:
On Berg being named MVP: "I hope he is voted as MVP every Saturday. If he is voted as MVP, I believe that we then have many chances to win. I watched both matches of Sweden against Denmark, he is in an exceptional condition and I hope he is equally good on Saturday, and I hope the whole team is too."
On the upcoming derby against Olympiacos: "I hope there will be a good match and for it to start and be completed peacefully. We need this too and we really want to win."
