The Best Goal award of the 8th matchday was awarded to Manolis Papasterianos playing for Aris, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Yannis Venos.
After the ceremony, the Aris player stated:
"I wish to thank Mr Venos for honouring me by presenting me with this award. This award does not belong to Papasterianos. This award belongs to Aris! When a player scores, the whole squad scores and I am really happy because in the previous matches we proved what we can do in the field. The essence of football is the goal. If I could catch the ball with my hands and get myself into the net, then I would! The fans do not care how the goal will be scored; they only want you to score so that the club will win."
As regards the match against Veria, he stated:
"I believe that this match will be harder than the previous two. We need to be more focused, to keep the positive elements and enter the field to win since this is what we should do. Victory only!"
Mr Venos stated the following:
"I wish to congratulate him on this beautiful goal he scored, which was fairly named the best goal of the matchday. This is because it was beautifully executed, but also came as a result of the efforts of the whole squad. Usually, these goals are especially beautiful. It combined a fancy move by Aganzo, a precision cross and a fantastic finish by Manolis! I wish to congratulate him both for the goal he scored and his performance during this match. I hope he will continue like that and that we will see more goals from him, because he can and he has proven so. The squad is in a very good physical and psychological condition. It has proven that it has found its way and has a good presence in the pitch. This was evident against two really strong opponents, such as Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. The whole family of Aris believes in the players, supports them and I hope they will continue like this and keep amassing points."
