The MVP award of the 18th matchday was awarded to Karim Ansarifard playing for Olympiacos, who topped the competition organised by Super League Greece, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The awards were presented by Mr Savvas Theodoridis.
After the ceremony, the Olympiacos player stated:
On receiving the MPV award of the 18th matchday: "I value all the fans that voted for me and Olympiacos. I am satisfied with this award, however it is the result of teamwork, I did not win it by myself, I owe it to my teammates. They all helped me and I thank them for this. I enjoy playing for this club and am proud to be in Olympiacos."
On whether his goal is to be top scorer of the league: "Nothing is over yet, but I would prefer going to the World Cup as a champion with Olympiacos rather than the top scorer of the league. If it were up to me, I would choose winning the championship. It will be really nice if I am top scorer, but our goal is to win the championship and do the best for the club. I work hard for the team; we do not know how things will turn out, but I try hard for the team to win the title."
On whether the derby will be the same as the Greek Cup derby:
"It will be different, the outcome is different in each competition. However, a derby is a derby and you must win. We have to do our best in order to secure the result because it is very important. We want to thank our fans; we are ready to fight and do our best for the result. The championship still has a long way to go and we must give our 100% in order to achieve the best possible result."
Mr Theodoridis stated the following:
"I wished him to do against AEK what he did against Xanthi. Namely to be the best and score a goal because the fans want Olympiacos to win. We are capable of facing any adversity against Olympiacos and the truth will soon be restored."
