The Best Goal award of the 33rd matchday was awarded to Javier Cámpora playing for Veria, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Stelios Meimaridis, among the sponsors of the Club.
After the ceremony, the Veria player stated:
"It is definitely one of the most beautiful goals I have ever scored. I don't usually score beautiful goals, but instead score important ones. But this was a beautiful goal."
On how the goal was scored:
"It's a decision taken within seconds. What I want is to be in the box. I was in the box, the ball came to me in the air, I controlled it with the chest, it was up in the air again and the only choice I had was this bicycle kick. Thank God I managed to score the goal."
He also talked about how important scoring a goal is for a striker's psychology, especially when fans vote for him:
"I have said many times that goals are a striker's life. It is therefore important to be scoring goals in order to feel better, to feel confident, to have trust and faith; this is even more important when the fans reward you for your goal, given that many people voted this goal as best goal of the matchday. I am given the opportunity to thank you all for this honour."
On whom he dedicates this award to:
"I dedicate this award to the fans that voted for me and honoured me by presenting me with this best goal award; I also dedicate it to my family who always support me. They are not with me right now and they will definitely see this on the Internet at a later point. I wish to dedicate it to my wife and my three children, Luca, Franco and Delfina, who will shortly join me here in Greece."
