The MVP award of the 25th matchday was awarded to Gordon Schildenfeld playing for PAOK, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Panayiotis Koliofoutis, one of the sponsors of FC PAOK.
After the ceremony, the PAOK player stated:
"I know what I can do, I know how I can play and how I can play better than my performance in the away match against Platanias. It was a tough match and I would be much happier if this distinction was awarded to the whole club since it is really hard to play with nine players in the squad and win the game at the end. However, I am also happy because people like my playing style and they enjoyed my display in this particular match. The only thing I can say is 'thank you'."
- Given that many PAOK players have received many personal awards such as this one, could this be the people's practical proof of love, namely they see a player and readily "embrace" him?
"Yes, I believe this is true as well. Because if they are always there and vote and give us that many, similar awards, then we have solid proof that they like us and that we are their favourites in this city."
- After one and a half month of playing in a new defence formation – since there are several new players – how much have you and your defence teammates improved and how much has the defence in general has improved, in your opinion?
"I believe that it is not always easy to enter a team and readily adjust that quickly. I believe we do good work since we feel more confident of our defence game-by-game and, at times, it is evident that we can play better. Time works in our favour and of course our performance has not reached its peak; we have several matches ahead of us so we can know each other better and play equally better."
