The Best Goal award of the 12th matchday was awarded to Giorgos Theodoridis playing for Panetolikos, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Panagiotis Kapsalis, one of the supporters of FC Panetolikos.

After the ceremony, the Panetolikos player stated:

"There was a point when the team was behind in the score. I had the chance to shoot and believed I could score a goal. We would see this under a different light if the team had won and I would be even happier. I am glad the fans liked the goal and voted for it and this award is a great honour for me."

On whom he dedicates this award to: "I wish to dedicate it to my wife who supports me and to my family. Players' relatives are by their side and support them, therefore the least I can do is dedicate this award to them. I also wish to thank Mr Kapsalis who has been supporting our club and the players for so many years."

On the goals of Panetolikos: "Our initial goal is to not get relegated. We are down to earth and we want to secure our staying in the league as soon as possible. This does not mean that we do not believe we can achieve something more. We have to be focused on what we are doing, by following our coach's instructions, and I believe all will go well."

Mr Kapsalis stated the following: "Giorgos, through his quality and performance, has given us beautiful goals in the past as well. His goal in Xanthi was really beautiful and he deserves this award he receives today. I want to personally congratulate him and my partners as well and I wish he will continue like this in the rest of the season and in his career in general. We have all been supporting the efforts of FC Panetolikos for many years now, hoping that the club will achieve something more."
