The MVP award of the 22nd matchday was awarded to Giorgos Athanasiadis playing for Panthrakikos, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by the Club's goalkeeper coach, Mr Yannis Plavoukos.
After the ceremony, the Panthrakikos player stated:
"I wish to dedicate this award to the Administration of Panthrakikos, the club coaches, my teammates and of course the fans that voted me as MVP of the 22nd matchday.
I did not have fond memories from last season's match in Veria where I entered the pitch as a substitute player on the 15th minute and we lost the match 2-0. Things were different in the last match and I can say I took my revenge.
This award definitely gives me more confidence, but I know that I have not achieved anything yet. I have to listen to my coaches, to those teammates with greater experience than mine and to keep working and be careful on and off the pitch.
As regards the championship from now on and the match against OFI: "We have to win another 3-4 points to be able to say we have secured our staying in the league. We have a difficult match ahead of us, in a difficult stadium, but we will go there and play the way we know to play, as we have done in all championship matches so far."
Mr Plavoukos stated the following:
"He is a player working daily in training sessions and this was evident on the pitch when it was required when he helped his team achieve a positive result. He has to remain modest and continue the same way. Duration is the key to results and to being recognised as a player."
