The MVP award of the 17th matchday was awarded to Giorgos Athanasiadis playing for Panthrakikos, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by the football director of Panthrakikos, Haris Mavromatis.
After the ceremony, the Panthrakikos player pointed out:
"I feel happy and satisfied to be receiving this award; I try to do the best for my club, but the most important thing is for the club to achieve their goal and manage to remain in the Super League.
We train hard and I believe our efforts will be fruitful and we will manage to remain in the league. I dedicate this award to my club and my family who support me."
Mr Mavromatis stated the following: "This is an honour for our club since 2015 kicks off with an award for a lad who deserves it, since he was one of the pillars of our efforts in the match against Xanthi too. Giorgos is an exceptional man; he is one of the best lads in our team and he is a very talented and hard-working player, who has developed himself greatly in the last few years.
I wish him health and to fulfil all the targets in his career. We are greatly honoured by the fact that a player coming from our academies is receiving this award for the second time and we believe that with his contribution we will achieve our goal to remain in the division."
