The Best Goal award of the 25th matchday was awarded to Giannis Giannotas playing for Aris, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Pantelis Kountoutsikos, his coach as a young player.
After the ceremony, the Aris player stated:
"It is with great joy that I receive this award by this man. I feel proud and wish first of all for our team to continue with its good display so it can be saved from relegation, and we will welcome anything good that comes our way."
On the goals he scored and how much they boost his morale:
"The necessary thing was for my club to win, not for me scoring these goals. The win came at the right moment, it boost our morale and gave us strength to go on."
On whether goals help lose the stress:
"I have said before that when you play for a great club, stress is always present. Goals do not matter, what is important is for the club to win no matter who scores; I repeat, it is not the scorer who is important."
On the way he celebrated the goal, by throwing an imaginary grenade to the stands:
"We came up with this particular celebration while having coffee with the guys. The 3-0 win was the appropriate moment to use it!"
