Ergys Kaçe, in his exclusive interview for the website of the Super League, said that "we must conclude the season in the best possible way" and pointed out that PAOK "is my family". The PAOK midfielder also said that "I have made mistakes, I learnt from them and I always want the best. I am always motivated to do something more." The full interview:
The team seems to be performing better following the appointment of the new coach. What do you think was the problem before?
The arrival of a new coach is always accompanied by a feeling of optimism and is a boost to the team, especially when the players are affected by the continuous bad results. We have certainly all made mistakes, but the important thing right now is not to share blame. We must conclude the season in the best possible way.
Question by Nikolaos Kouvrakidis
Would you like Mr Ivić as head coach in the following season as well?
Mr Ivić is a very good coach; he has personality, he knows the particularities of PAOK well and he can succeed. Given that, it's not my responsibility to say who will be coach.
What are your thoughts regarding the future? Would you like to remain in PAOK?
PAOK is the team where I grew up. My family. I've been here since I was a little boy and I acknowledge that I have gained many things from PAOK. I am glad to be in Thessaloniki and in Toumba and choose to put aside the occasional rumours. This is how football works. I look at the present because, in football, you can never know what the future will hold.
Question by Achilleas Damianos
Do you believe that the 2nd place and the participation in the Champions League through the play-off round is a feasible goal?
If I did not believe this was a feasible goal, then I wouldn't have a place on the pitch. PAOK have many good players and can of course finish in the first place of the play-offs. This doesn't mean that it's an easy goal given that our opponents are equally strong, but we also have the deduction of points that makes our work harder.
Question by Yannis Mytilineos, Hristos Poultisis
How did you feel back when the previous coach did not count you in? Did this steel your resolve?
Football has good and bad moments. Even when you do not play, you have to look for the positive side. To become stronger, better. So I wanted to continually improve, train more and exceed my own limitations.
Question by Nikos Ragatsis
What is your opinion on your presence in PAOK so far?
I am satisfied by the fact that I have managed to become a regular in such a great club such as PAOK, to have surpassed the 100 participations early and of course to have gained the appreciation of the fans. This is a great achievement. It would of course be a lie to say that I am satisfied by my presence so far. I have made mistakes, I learnt from them and I always want the best. I am always motivated to do something more.
Question by Yorgos Papadopoulos, Maria Mylonidou
Would you play in another Greek club?
I belong to PAOK, the team that promoted me and offered me a lot. My heart and my mind belong here. I don't think of anything else.
Question by Vassilis Tsakiridis
If you were to ask a favour from the fans, what would you ask them?
To never stop supporting the team. To always be by our side, both in good times and mainly during hard times. To continue being the backbone of the team, without causing any trouble.
What areas have you improved in comparison to last season?
I try to introduce new elements in my game without disregarding my distinct characteristics. The more you play, the more experience you gain and you can read a match better. This is very important for a midfielder.
What are your hobbies?
I like to walk, to be with friends at home or go out for dinner. I also play PS4 and watch international football.
Were you not a footballer, what would you rather be and why?
This is a question I have also asked myself, but there is no clear reply. Thankfully, I will never need to find out. I am lucky to be involved in football.
