The MVP and Best Goal awards of the 28th matchday were awarded to Christos Donis and Michalis Bastakos respectively who topped the competition organised by Super League Greece, the Pahnellenic ssociation of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The awards were presented by Sakis Anastasiadis (U-20 coach) and Tasos Katsampis.
After the ceremony, Christos Donis said:
"I think that my effort throughout the year is now proven. I would personally wish to dedicate it to the people that believed in me from the beginning and all players in the dressing room. Had it not been for them, I would not be holding this award in my hands right now. As I said, I wish to dedicate it to my teammates and I am very happy about it."
On his effort in Iraklis:
"Right now we have the advantage since staying in the league only depends on us. I believe that if we win two games, we will remain in the league."
On the game against Panetolikos that he will not play in due to being sanctioned:
"I wanted to play but I believe that the other players will put a great effort into it and at the end we will be victorious."
On the existing problems:
"Yeah, okay, things are hard, we all know that. We have succeeded in keeping all these problems out of the dressing room for a long time now. Right now we are greatly motivated, there are two matches left and we need to be focused in order to win these games." He added: "There is a great number of problems. These are not related to our game because we have really talented players. There are many administrative and out-of-the-pitch problems."
Michalis Bastakos said:
"I am very happy about winning my first award; I wish to dedicate it first of all to my family who stand by my side and support me - even from a distance - and to our fans too."
On his bonding with the team:
"Yes, I believe that I feel something strange, I have bonded with Iraklis despite the fact that I have only been here for a few months. It feels like years. The support of the fans made me bond with the team. Iraklis feels like my family."
On the upcoming match against Panetolikos:
"It's yet another final. We must win for all to go well so we can then calm down."
On the problems the club faces:
"We are not affected by these, our job is on the pitch. The things outside the pitch are the responsibility of others."
On his loan from Atromitos Athinon to Iraklis:
"For the time being, I do not want to be thinking about my leaving. There are still two matches left in the Championship and we will see everything after the season is over."
On what Iraklis must do in the two remaining matches:
"We must do what we do in every game, we must give our everything, we must fight."
On the future of Iralkis and the possibility to remain in the club:
"The truth is I have bonded with Iraklis and this is hard for me."
Sakis Anastasiadis said among other things:
"Congratulations to both. I hope the future will hold better things both for them and Iraklis. I believe that everyone's effort is tremendous: the technical team and, most of all, the players. However, I believe that the result will be fortunate because the players have really exceeded themselves despite the problems and I think that the match against Panetolikos will confirm their huge effort. I would very much like for this season to be left behind as much as possible, for things to go better for Iraklis, for an investor to be involved that will be able to properly organise the team so we will all find our way and our club will be able to have a peaceful future."
Tasos Katsampis said:
"The fact that we are presenting these MVP and Best goal awards to young players and in fact players of Iraklis is very important. Iraklis is going through hard times, but I believe that at the end it will prove its worth on the pitch, as usual. We knew from the kick-off of the season that there are many great problems. Thankfully Iraklis has proven on the pitch what the team is worth; this staying in the league story saddens me because Iraklis should always be in the top places of the ranking. I wish and hope that, as in the previous years, something will change and that under a proper management, Iraklis will present a new administration profile."
