The MVP title of the 8th matchday was awarded to Christos Aravidis playing for Panionios FC, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Noni Lima.
After the ceremony, the player stated:
"This is my first award this season; I had received one as well last season. This honour, that belongs to the whole squad and not just me, is important to me, as it recognises our everyday effort during training sessions and matches. I hope this is the just the first of many awards that we will receive thanks to our team effort solely."
On his receiving the award by Noni Lima: "It is a great joy and honour for me to be receiving this award by a great football player such as Noni Lima. He had given Panionios his best and we are talking about an exquisite man who is honouring Panionios with his presence inside and outside the field."
On the match against PAOK: "I believe this is a tough match, as all the matches before it. No one has been soft with us until today and I do not see why PAOK would do something like that. We will continue working in the same way we are working during the whole week in order to win this match as well."
On whom he dedicates his award to: "I need to dedicate this award to my companion, my family and my to the squad for all the work done. Everyone knows that certain moments and circumstances are truly difficult this season. I believe that this award gives us joy and additional confidence for the future."
Mr Lima stated the following:
"I am really happy to present this award for the most valuable player of the 8th matchday to Christos. He really was worth the two goals he scored during the previous match. But he mostly deserves this award for his performance until this day. At the moment, he is one of the best players in the squad, which has proven it has great potential and I wish the season will continue the same way it started."
