The Best Goal award of the 19th matchday was awarded to Andreas Samaris playing for FC Panionios, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Noni Lima.
After the ceremony, the FC Panionios player stated the following:
On how he feels about receiving the first award in his career, in the Super League:
"I would like to thank all those that voted for me. It is important for me that the fans of Panionios, and in general all fans watching the Greek championship, voted for me. I would also like to thank my teammates, who fought for this win against Levadiakos. For me, this is a honourary award and I hope I will receive more in the championship this season."
On whether he considers this award a reward for his good appearances during the last fixtures:
"It could be… I mostly believe that work and the results the team gets are the things rewarding you, and not some beautiful goal you may score. I believe that my good appearances are related to the work during training and the fact that my coaches have helped me reach this state; more goals will be scored and not only by me, but by other players too."
On his receiving the award by Noni Lima:
"Noni has really helped me a lot. We practice many shots to goal every day during training and I would really wish to thank him and state that it is a great honour for me to be working together with Noni Lima, because he is a living legend for the club and all the fans of Panionios know what he has accomplished for the club and what he has offered to Panionios."
