André Martins and Brown Ideye receive the MVP and Βest Goal awards of the 6th matchay

13 October 2016, 22:59

The MVP and the Best Goal awards of the 6th matchday were awarded to André Martins and Brown Ideye, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA.

After the ceremony, André Martins said:

"This award will truly motivate me. It fills me with confidence. It fills me with optimism. It gives me strength to go on. This is a personal award. But the awards won by the club are more important. And I want the team to win more awards in the future."

-You adjusted to the requirements of Olympiacos right away. How did you achieve this?

"As they say, football speaks an international language. I solidly believe this. It is the same no matter where you go. The first few days are of course a bit different. You need to adjust to new ideas. However, my teammates and my coach helped me adjust really quickly. And I now feel 100% part of the team."

-Would you like to dedicate the award to someone?

"I dedicate it to my family, the fans that voted for me and, of course, my teammates and my coaches because I wouldn't be able to do this without them. But, above all, my family who are always by my side."

Mr Theodoridis said the following:

"Since this is the first trophy he wins with Olympiacos, I wish him to win many more so that Olympiacos will go higher and he will go higher too."

After the ceremony, Brown Ideye said:

"I wanted to have such a start because I have worked hard. I wanted to win this award. I am happy to have won it and I hope more will follow."

-Would you like to dedicate the award to someone?

"First of all, I wish to dedicate it to God and to the fans of Olympiacos who support me. I also dedicate it to my family. And to all those who believe in me and have supported me so far.

-In Greece we say that "well begun is half done". What do you think will happen in the future?

"I have worked very hard to win this award. I want to work hard in the future too in order to win more awards. Given that I had a good start, I want to continue like this."

-Have the trips with your National Team tired you?

"It's a natural thing. I feel well. I want to be back as soon as possible. We have very important matches ahead of us. So, I try to get some rest as soon as possible."
