The Best Goal award of the 2nd matchday was awarded to Amr Warda playing for Panetolikos, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented to Amr Ward by the veteran international player of the club, Mr Dionyssis Tsamis.
After the ceremony, Warda stated the following:
I am very happy that the fans voted my goal as best goal of the matchday. I will keep trying for the best, for me and my club.
On how the goal was scored:
I was in the box and before Makos crossed the ball, I had already started moving. I made good contact with the ball and sent it at the corner of the goal.
On the importance of the goal and the victory:
This goal is important not only for me but for the club as well who achieved their first victory. We proved, in the first match against Panathinaikos as well as in the second match against Asteras, that we have a very good team. We will keep playing equally well.
On how he quickly acclimatised to the club:
Since my first day in Panetolikos, everyone treated me really nice. I don't feel like the club's latest transfer, but I instead feel like I have been to the club for a lot of time. We make a really good team and we all cooperate and try to do our best every day.
On whether this is the first award he receives in his career:
There are no similar awards in Egypt. I was voted best U21 player, but this is the first award I collect.
On whom he dedicates this award to:
This is my first Best Goal award and I will keep it to myself. I wish to thank the organisers of the competition and the fans that voted for me, for this honour.
