The Best Goal award of the 2nd matchday was awarded to Abialo Dauda playing for Atromitos Athinon, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA. The award was presented by Mr Yorgos Daskalakis, a veteran player of the club.
After the ceremony, the Atromitos Athinon player stated:
"It's nice to be holding this award. I thank all the fans that voted for me. I did not think the goal I scored would look so nice, but I am happy that it was voted as best goal of the 2nd matchday. I feel great satisfaction."
On whether he has realised what kind of a goal he scored now that he's seen it again: "I did not think something during the match. I received the ball, controlled it and shot it into the net. I was only thinking about shooting. I scored. It was then amazing watching the trajectory of the ball in replay and in slow motion. It was a truly beautiful goal. I believe it's among the top five goals of my career."
On how many goals he will score this year with Atromitos: "I am not overthinking things. I only try to be as good as I can in every match. We have a long year ahead of us. We will see how many goals I can score. I work hard in every match and we will see what I will achieve."
Mr Daskalakis stated the following:
"He scored a really beautiful goal. Such goals give a different character to the team. He stands out individually, but the goal is the result of team work and must be credited to the whole team. I wish success to Dauda and Atromitos."
