The Best Goal award of the 8th matchday was awarded to Abialo Dauda playing for Atromitos Athinon, who topped the competition organised by Super League, the Panhellenic Association of Professional Players (PSAP) and NOVA.
After the ceremony, the Atromitos player stated:
"This means a lot to me given that we were playing a difficult away match. The goal meant a lot because it put us in the first place of the classification list. It just happened. I wasn't planning it, I just wanted to send the ball to the goal and see what happens. The way the cross was served as well as the way I received it were both good and the goalkeeper could not react in any way. The atmosphere was tremendous as was our strategy against AEK and I am very happy that I was the one who scored the winning goal; I am also happy for our team effort."
"In the previous years, I lost many chances and I needed to work on being calmer on the shots on goal. This is how I have changed: I am now calm when facing the goal because if you are not calm, you cannot score. You will not have four or five goal-scoring opportunities. Opportunities are less in modern football and it is good to have balance. Sometimes, I may get three opportunities and not score a goal and other times, I may get one opportunity and manage to score."
